Killer. Really killer. Maybe the best ever. For a studio version. Unfortunately, she lip-synced it. And, I guess, that is the standard now and probably has been for a while. Lame. ABC news reports:
"That's the right way to do it," said Minor, who has produced numerous Super Bowl pregame performances and is the music director for American Idol. "There's too many variables to go live. I would never recommend any artist go live because the slightest glitch would devastate the performance."I say we do the same thing for the football game. We don't want to have any unfortunate outcomes. So let's have all the players rehearse each play like they do in professional wrestling. That way we can have nail-biting finishes every time. It will be so great.
Seriously, what ever happened to letting it rip? Who would have cared had she flubbed a couple of notes? And, come on, she wouldn't have. She would have destroyed it. And it would have been awesome. But no. I had to stare at her lips and wonder, is she really singing this thing? You can always tell.
I love you Jenifer Hudson. I just wish they would have let you sing.
